Discover the offer of Bari Centrale
A typical transit station, Bari Centrale acts as Puglia’s transport hub thanks to its urban extra-urban and touristic lines,welcoming more than 14 mln visitors every year.
The station, located near the city center, provides a connection between old Bari and new Bari and offers easy access to the city’s University and main shopping streets.
Constantly under improvement with quick, continuous upgrades, the station provides an ever-expanding selection of commercial offers.
The station was opened in 1864. Over the few years that followed, its central building was enlarged towards the adjacent Piazza and, over the space before the three central arcs, a Liberty style iron cantilever roof was added. Between 1930 and 1946, a project to modify the complex’s central structure was carried out and, later, a series of further interventions kept improving the station and defined its current layout.
