VISIONS IN MOTION BY YOUNG ARTISTS IN THE STATION
Dear visitors,
so many of you come here every day, some to keep us company and others rushing to find the right platform.
We would like to thank you and offer you a demonstration of our thanks by sharing with you the beauty of the thoughts and emotions of young talents who, like you, have spent time here.
“Visioni d’istanti” public art exhibition is part of the plans for the redevelopment of our station, which is the largest in Italy.
There always have been and always will be stations: places of departures, arrivals, waiting, greetings, shopping, meetings, moments that we will remember forever.
The project has been complicated because this isn’t the easiest of moment, but it gave us the opportunity to be part of an exceptional cooperation, to go beyond the limits. We were part of a big team of people and we want to share the emotions we experienced while we were working together and thinking about you, here, in this station, which is now also a brand-new exhibition space and an opportunity for our young people, our artists to meet each other. It is a message of hope for the future, for everyone. We can slow down but we won’t stop traveling and while we wait for things to get back to normal, we thought we would treat you to these fabulous artworks: admire them and examine them; they talk about all of us.
And imagine your new station, imagine your future.
“Imagine that kind of station, and give it actual colour and shape.”
Haruki Murakami
The young artists who have taken part in this journey have filled their expectations with the strong and powerful evocation of Roma Termini, and the magic of their story has given us these visions that feed the eyes, nourishing the soul with lines, colours, shapes and signs that appear on the surfaces, accompanying travellers during their time in and passage through this space, representing the before, the after and the duration of a piece of existence.
Stories of young artists who reveal, through their visions and their feelings, that they share common dreams.
These artworks have been conceived for a process of realisation that belongs to our present, far removed from a process that involves the hands but which, as it unfolds, restores warmth.
